Paranomal activity at Pendle Hill

A hill near the towns of Burnley, Nelson, Colne, Clitheroe and Padiham known for the story of the Pendle witches, one of the best known and most documented examples of alleged witchcraft in 17th-century England.

Pendle Hill and the surrounding area were said to be used by the Pendle witches to practice their rituals.  Twelve locals were  charged with the murders of ten people by the use of witchcraft.  Ten were found guilty and were hanged.

The hill's association with witchcraft lives on today, a large numbers of visitors climb it every Halloween.

In 2004 the Most Haunted team visited Pendle Hill for their live Halloween special. Presenter, Yvette Fielding, said it was the scariest episode they had ever been a part of.
